How to Make Selecting a Topic to Write Friendlier for Our Brains?
Sharing my time-proven method to create Medium articles
It seems daunting for writers to search high and low for a topic to write. Whatever subjects we choose, another person may have written about the same issue. Sometimes it frustrates us, but it is still possible to be authentic in our writings.
I’m sure all our writers are creative, and each may have a different approach to finding topics to address their audiences. I will not recommend several ways, but I will share an idea that has consistently worked well for me.
I list down all the possible titles in advance. I use a notepad on my mobile phone to record my lists. Hence, I will review that list on my phone while preparing an article. I will delete any titles that I have already used.
With this method, I do not run dry on topics to start writing. In addition, I can write down any topics that come to my mind before I forget them. Of course, when I review the list of titles, there are some I still may not have any impressions on how to start. So be it. I’ll choose a topic close to my heart or something my audience would appreciate.
By listing the topics, I will not go blank on my thoughts regarding the subject when I write an article. Interestingly, when our mind is relaxed and unhurried, it seems to think better.
