How To Live a Life Full of Gratitude!

Powerful Tools You May Choose to use When Everything, and Everyone, Turns Against You. A Simple Three-Step Plan.

Don’t stand for what you’re told to be, and definitely don’t stand for what you are expected to be. Remember, Dave says it’s okay to be happy instead …. Photo courtesy of Kylo.

(Author’s note: This is powerful stuff and you may choose not to use these skills at all times — sometimes, it just isn’t worth seeing everyone around you shocked at your degree of indifference to their shenanigans. However, in other situations, you will find you enjoy the successful interactions and major accomplishments you get by utilizing what I am presenting herein).

How to be all things to everyone at all times:

It starts by accepting what I tell you now: You are perfect as you are, and the only unique person just like you on the planet. Let yourself revel in that fact for just a moment. Now let it sink in and fill your entire countenance.

Once you confidently begin to demand that the world owns who you are by letting the world know that you feel good about yourself, now comes the correlation: everyone else is the only one of them who exists in the world, and yes, they come complete with all of their limitations, faults, and entitlements.

Print that out and keep it close by.

When I was a boy, I was often told that it takes a stronger man to forgive others no matter how they may have hurt you. It turned out that was truth. Most people today would rather hold judgment than to forgive and accept others for who they truly are.

Here is where you get one up on them:

By taking the high road, learning to forgive others no matter how difficult it is, and showing this attitude to those around you, you automatically become the strongest person in the room.

Don’t question or hesitate at all.

Your firmness in having a temperate attitude and forgiving others — especially even those who most deserve your revenge and hatred for what they’ve done against you or your loved ones — puts you in the driver’s seat and makes you a leader.

Very quickly, you will forge connections to others you never dreamed you would, and soon everyone will be coming to you for advice about how to handle their own hardships.

How to be happy with your life at all times:

It’s been said that so long as your life is 51% more peace-filled than it is hardship, you are doing well, and your life, in general, will feel like it is a happy one.

It is when the days of your life start becoming 51% (or more) hardship than joy-filled, that over time, you might feel as if your life is failing or inadequate. Then, you might think that you need to make major changes to find happiness again. Don’t do it! You just need to win each day as it comes. Here’s how:

For most of us, it is just a few percentage points here that we are talking about which makes all the difference. Where we stand for days, or even weeks at a time, on the line determining that all important fifty percent boundary sways back and forth. Because of our routines, the time of the year or the weather, our jobs, finances, behavior or attitudes of our family and friends, we can all get pulled back across the threshold without notice.

Since we have between 16–18 waking hours each day, that means that if you can find just one activity of an hour or so in length which brings you joy on those days when otherwise the percentage of hardship would have outweighed the pleasure-filled, we can bring ourselves back over the threshold of fifty percent and feel like we are winning again.

Having a litany of activities on standby which we know will bring us joy for those days when we in danger of falling below the 50% joy-filled zone is a handy and important tool.

But you must choose the activity appropriate for that day and commit yourself to doing it. Will it be taking a hike in the local park, watching that show you’ve been putting off, baking a cake, calling a friend just to catch up, visiting an animal shelter just for the heck of it, or a long hot bath or massage?

Whatever floats your boat, choose it and do it!

How to have a positive outlook on the world itself at all times:

Imagine if you were one of the billions on Earth whose life is mostly hardship, and who can never expect to reduce suffering to below even 10% of their time? Funny to find, but studies show that many of those less fortunate than ourselves rate their lives to a higher degree on the happiness scale than many of us do.

They simply don’t know that life could be any easier and so they go about their tasks without complaining. Perhaps it is our expectations, of all things, that stand in the way of our success as joyful beings ….

Think of this: no matter how horrible they’ve ever been treated; a very high percent of dogs will still greet you with a wagging tail and a bright smile so long as you come to them as a friend. It begs the question: if dogs have evolved to be optimistic angels no matter how terrible their circumstances, then what happened to us along the way?

Why do we take hurtful actions and tumultuous leaders so much to heart?

Remember, you are a free person who is the leader of your own domain. Have the responsibility to keep your attitude in perspective. Our world and your happiness demands such. Do not believe the internet or media who will always make you think you need more to find happiness. They are liars and we know that. They want to get rich and famous by making you believe you are suffering or lacking.

Only answer: Be your own leader and cheerleader despite the world around you. As Dave says in the caption above:

Don’t stand for what you’re told to be, and definitely don’t stand for what you are expected to be. It’s okay to be happy instead ….

And so, the cycle itself comes full circle and fulfills the ultimate destiny of what it means to be human today in the glorious year of 2020.

Most others will hold judgment, especially against those they hate the most, and so they are then setting the parameters for their outlook on life which will always guarantee their dissatisfaction with others, but ultimately with themselves and God.

By utilizing what I’ve set forth here above, it is in forgiving others for their weaknesses and limitations that we can then begin to forgive ourselves for our own … and then life itself for all of its dastardly tricks and turns. We adjust our expectations to be in-line with a positive reality of our world, and then we find we enjoy being who we are.

We then become leaders when we do so. And because our lives will be happy, since now we have found the right amount of joy each day that will turn the tide in our favor, we remain on top of the world no matter what it will try to do to break us.

Print and carry that:

We remain on top of the world no matter what it will try to do to break us.

And always think of Dave, who says:

Be humble and be happy, and forget the rest!

What? I love you — I just gave you my best wisdom!
