How To Find The Sweet Spot In Life
“People who never relax and people who are invariably in a relaxed state merit your disapproval- the former as much as the latter.” Seneca
Everything moves so fast today.
There is always something new to see or do. Millions of hours of content are uploaded to the internet every day. With the whole world at our fingertips, it’s hard to not get caught up in the terrifying speed of the world today.
On the other hand, the fact that we can access the whole world from our house, in our underwear, makes it easier than ever to delude ourselves into thinking we are doing things when in reality we are scrolling our lives away.
I’ve noticed this in my own life.
On the one hand, I feel the need to work harder and do more. Everyone else seems like they are doing so much, I don’t want to be lazy. However, the reason I think others are doing so much more is that I’m constantly scrolling through social media while doing nothing with my time.
We need to find a balance, and time to do both.
If we are constantly going all day every day or laying around doing nothing all day, we are equally missing out on life.
Life is happening in the present moment.
We all have to work and be productive to be happy in life. But we also have to take some time and relax and unwind. The second part might be hard for most people, even typing it right now feels weird.
We have become conditioned to do more and make more money and buy more things, but that doesn’t create true fulfillment. On the other hand, being lazy and allowing life to happen to us will never create fulfillment either.
The trick is to find a balance.
There is a time to work and a time to relax. By making both a priority we are not only happier and more complete, but we can experience all that life has to offer.
It’s okay to let yourself enjoy life, just don’t do it too much.
