These 3 Quotes By Thich Nhat Hanh Got My Head Out Of The Clouds And Into Reality
“Hope becomes a kind of obstacle. If you can refrain from hoping, you can bring yourself entirely into the present moment and discover the joy that is already here.” Thich Nhat Hanh
I’m a dreamer, I get lost in my own thoughts and dream about weird wonderful things.
That’s one of the reasons I started writing, to try and put these random thoughts to good use.
I have lots of hopes and dreams for the future. But that might be the problem. I have goals too, goals are good, they give us a path to follow and something to work towards.
But the more time I spend hoping for something to happen in the future the less time I spend working today.
“Hope is for the future. It cannot help us discover joy, peace, or enlightenment in the present moment.”
When we hope things will change or hope something will save us we take power away from ourselves. We can do things and take action that will take us from where we are to where we want to go.
By having clearly defined goals, and taking action every day towards reaching those goals, we are on our way to achieving more than we thought possible. No amount of hope or positive thinking can change our lives.
Being determined and taking action every day is the only way.
“We can smile and relax. Everything we want is right here in the present moment.”
