How Do I Submit To Illumination- Curated?

Since the announcement of the creation of the new publication, this is the question I’ve been asked the most.

Curation is a selection process performed using specific criteria.

It’s the action or process of selecting, organizing, and looking after the items in a collection or exhibition, the selection of performers or performances that will feature in an arts event or program or the selection, organization, and presentation of online content, merchandise, information, etc., typically using professional or expert knowledge. Purpose of ILLUMINATION-Curated

ILLUMINATION-Curated is a new publication extending the capabilities of the main publication, ILLUMINATION with 3,800 writers and 32,000 followers.

ILLUMINATION-Curated

The primary purpose of the new publication is to amplify the messages of advanced writers to an extended audience.

The secondary purpose is to set a benchmark for the writers of ILLUMINATION and provide a purposeful goal for improving their writing skills and being recognized as an advanced writer.

An Introduction to Illumination-Curated

To be selected for Illumination-Curated, your article must meet Medium guidelines. It also needs to be a high quality, well-written piece that contributes to a conversation. Listicles and how to make money on Medium articles aren’t what we’re looking for.

To begin with, submit your best work. Write as if you were writing to be curated on Medium.

In a nutshell, write quality articles and pay attention to tags, kickers, format, and Medium curation rules.

These stories were successfully curated and distributed to topics in Medium. It’s an excellent resource to study if you are interested in being curated.

By the way, you can now directly write for Illumination-Curated if your stories meet the Medium distribution rules. Dr Mehmet Yildiz explained the criteria and provided instructions.

Here’s my take on curation from when I was a new writer.

Back to the question — How Do I Submit To Illumination-Curated?

There Are Three Types of Articles to Consider.

Medium-curated article previously published.

These articles may be moved by the writer to ILLUMINATION-Curated where an editor will review and generally publish to the new publication.

  1. Apply to become a writer with ILLUMINATION-Curated by sending a message. Be sure to mention which publication you want to join in the body of the message.
  2. Find the curated story you would like to move and remove it from the existing publication. While editing the article, click on the three dots ‘…’ and select Remove from publication.
  3. Add the story to ILLUMINATION-Curated. While editing the article, click on the three dots ‘…’ and select Add to publication. Then submit.

Articles published in ILLUMINATION, non-Medium curated

If your article meets all submission guidelines it may be selected by an editor to bring to the editor's group for review.
