How Do I Practice Self-Love?
Dancing Elephants Press Prompt 17 of 52

I would love to thank Vidya Sury, Collecting Smiles for coming up with the beautiful prompt on Self-love that made me sit, think and reflect on what self-love means to me and how I do it.
The difference between dead and alive human beings is –growth.
Dead people cannot grow, but living human beings grow each day, whether physically, mentally, emotionally, intellectually, or spiritually.
Every day we are growing at whatever age, and every day is adding something to our baskets of experiences.
To me, anything that adds value to the growth process of being a beautiful human being in and outside is self-love.
It could be a face mask to the deep spiritual practices.
The simple list of everyday self-love activities includes:
- Every day, I practice gratitude. It is the most effective form of self-love for me. Practicing gratitude has allowed me to see the beauty of life more minutely and has given me more calmness and tranquility.
- I try to connect with our Almighty by living my life as per His will. Nourishing my soul through prayer is the wisest self-love activity for me.
- I write on medium .com to live my passion and dream. Choosing the life of a storyteller over a regular 9–5 job shows how I prioritize my love for work.
- Recently, I have started to sit daily for 15–20 minutes on my balcony in the sun bask, knowing the magical role of Vitamin D in our health.
- I am now more cautious about my healthy food intake as we are what we eat. Nutrients from the foods we eat provide the foundation of the structure, function, and wholeness of every little cell in our body.
- I walk for around 30–45 minutes every day, and it is an irreplaceable activity of self-love for me.
- I love to be in the lap of mother nature, so I don’t miss any opportunity to go to a naturally beautiful place.
- I have learned to make honey bee wax cream and special hair oil at home. It’ 's such an empowering feeling that I can make my own cream and oil :) I regularly apply these to my skin and hair to pamper myself.
I would like to mention some amazing self-love stories:
Okay, now shower your love on the seeds of my dream:
Yours’
Umme.
