Highlights: A Deep Dive Into Art and Music

The Most Interesting Phrases and Links of the Prompt!

Hippopx

Several months ago, I started to post every now and then a prompt called “ Deep Dive” to create bridges with other fellow writers, open discussions, exchange experiences, and a safe place to safely share writings, minutes, and parts of the heart.

For every theme I choose to write about and ask my fellow writers to write about, I choose some interesting thoughts, quotes, and comments from those who participate, and I add all the links to the articles.

My last prompt was a deep dive called “ Deep Dive Prompt into Art and Music.

I am so happy that many of my fellow writers dedicate time, effort, and love to join the prompt, share with us part of their hearts, and show us the life in the creativity bubble we sit in to construct a world of letters and words.

In this article, I am posting all the articles with some quotes and highlights. This is also an invitation to read what you might find interesting. Sometimes inspiration hides in the shadow of a phrase or a sentence, and reading is a tool to find the gold scattered between full stops and commas.

All the articles were special, beautiful, and thought-provoking. There were many beautiful phrases, which made my task of cherrypicking a tricky one.

Let us start with the writers who joined the prompt:

The house is full of music!

“ I play the cello (not very well) — I am classically trained but rarely play sheet music these days. I enjoy holding down a bassline while my husband sings and plays the guitar.” Lisa Cunningham DeLauney

Raw beauty in earthy tones

“ This piece of art reminds me of our beautiful Mother Nature and the sheer perfection in which she created our Earth. Raw beauty in earthy tones.” Colleen Millsteed

Special connection with music

“ Music that stirs my feelings of love is Beethoven’s Symphony №3, my favorite of his nine extraordinary symphonies. It led me to fall deeply in love with music and with the French Horn.” Patricia Timmermans

Painting comes first

“ Since I have always liked sketching, I can identify more with the painting process when writing. For me, words take their own life on paper as soon as I start pouring them out of my mind. Literally.” Gabriela Trofin-Tatár

Both music and painting are similar to writing..

“ I believe words paint pictures in the reader’s mind, so perhaps my answer should be pictures. However, good music evokes strong emotions, and good writing does that too.” Autistic Widower ("AJ")

Writing is more like painting

“ I think writing is more like painting, yet both are creations where we express our innermost thoughts and feelings.” Pamela Oglesby

Purple is the color of my song!

“ Purple is the color of hope, so I’d say purple. I also associate purple with Faith, and so much more.” Michelle Renee Kidwell

Music is my bridge to childhood

“ The pieces of music that touch my soul deeply are the guitar pieces by Francisco Tárrega. I go back in time to meet my Andalucian ancestors, run in the beautiful fields of Andalucia, walk near the great Mediterranean, and smell intensively the aromas of millions of flowers each time I listen to Memories of Alhambra.” Subhi Najar

I am so grateful to all those who joined or read the prompt.

If you are interested in joining such “deep dives,” please add a comment, and I am more than happy to add you.
