Here’s Some News About the Release Date of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
The voice actor for Venom, Tony Todd, revealed something via Twitter.
The Marvel universe is gearing up to welcome back two of its most beloved heroes, Peter Parker and Miles Morales, as they swing back into action in the upcoming Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 video game.
While an official release date has not been confirmed by developers Insomniac Games, a recent social media post by Venom voice actor Tony Todd has raised speculation that the game may be launching in September.
On Twitter, Todd shared a photo of himself in a “mocap mainframe,” which is presumably for the upcoming Spider-Man game. When a fan expressed excitement for the game’s sequel, Todd replied, seemingly confirming that the game would release in September.
“Looks like September! Massive publicity coming in August” wrote Todd, who is best known for his work in the Candyman film franchise.
This tweet by Todd came just a few months after Sony shared that Spider-Man 2 was planned to launch in the fall of 2023. The game is set to be a PlayStation 5 exclusive and will take place after the events of both Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
Insomniac Games, the game’s developer, has previously confirmed that the game is making “good progress” and is on track for a 2023 release.
The sequel promises to be darker than its predecessors, with Marvel Games vice president creative Bill Rosemann comparing it to Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. Fans of the first two games can expect an even more immersive experience as they journey through New York City with the two Spider-Men.
In addition to Spider-Man 2, Insomniac Games is also working on Marvel’s Wolverine, another highly anticipated game that is expected to have a more mature tone than previous Marvel games. Fans of the X-Men universe can expect to follow the adventures of Wolverine, one of the most popular and iconic characters from the Marvel universe.
