Here’s How Much Money I Made in FEB-Leap-ary (Yes, we have screenshots!)
And percentages, and comparisons galore!

The results are in and they’ve shown me the most important thing to make money on Medium.
It’s not starting a pub.
It’s not submitting to a pub.
It’s not engaging with your peeps (although that’s fun).
It’s not following other peeps (fun too).
Surprise! It’s writing!

This month I went from 16 articles in January to 36 articles in Feb-Leap-ary.
Did I meet my writing goal?
No.
But you guys don’t seem to mind. ❤ Thank you so much for believing in me and encouraging me to write, and then write some more.
Without further ado… in Feb-Leap-ary I made…

$99 in February!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish you could see me jumping up and down. That is a 2,000 percent increase from my first payout on Medium!
It seems so crazy to me!
I went from 87 views at the beginning of February to one thousand by the end. ❤

Last December, I joined a medium challenge. It was called the 12 Articles of Christmas. So I wrote — you guessed it, 12 articles. I met the requirements, but I didn’t push myself. I didn’t know how. I didn’t know it was important.
In January I wrote 16 articles.
And in February I wrote 36. Thirty-six!
That’s 20 more articles in February. And a 2,000% earnings increase. (I made $5 the first month I earned anything.)
C’mon, all you math whiz’s — 2,000% is just a fancy way of saying what?
20%!
The eye-opening thing is that I wrote 20 more articles and grew my income by 20% in a month.
Coincidence?
I think not.

One more screenshot for your viewing pleasure. I’m up +700 followers!
Take a look at the changes over the months! Can one of my math whizzes do a number comparison on that one? ;)

The bottom line: I’m humbled and elated.

I feel like I should say $99 is not life-changing. But it is.
Maybe not in the way that you think, but in my personal success story. You’ve told me that I can’t be held back. Monitizing IS POSSIBLE.
I can do something that I love and make money with it.
You’ll never know how important that is for me. My husband is the breadwinner. And I am lucky and thankful for that but, the painful thing is…
I have failed sooooooo many times.
Sure, I’ve had good jobs and I’m not living on the streets, but I’ve tried my hand at my share of businesses and failed.
Businesses that required upfront money that I never saw again. (That’s a story for another time.)
I’ve fought with my spouse about it, racked up my credit cards for it, and watched so many others build an income.
All while being so jealous of other’s success it stung sometimes.

But hopefully, fingers crossed, not anymore.
Feb-Leap-ary 2024, I turned over a new leaf. The Mediumverse gave me — an alien in its world, an opportunity.
And I’m not going to waste it.
