Halfway into February! Here are my Medium stats.

I’m making steady progress

At the beginning of this month I decided to be a lot more serious on Medium. My resolve was to churn out an article every day of the month to see if consistency really made a difference.

It’s been 14 days already and I am quite pleased at the kind of growth I am experiencing on this platform.

I will take you through all my three stats so you have a fair idea of how well or how bad I am doing. I’ll let you be the judge of that.

Audience Stats

When I joined Medium in the last week of November 2023, I was quite consistent.

I kept producing articles every day or two, but I fell off in the latter part of December for some reasons that I explain in a story you can access via this link.

Following all that happened, I got serious in February and after a fortnight here are my audience stats:

After two weeks of writing, I have garnered 131 followers and 10 email subscribers, which are the highest numbers I have seen on my profile yet!

It may not look as impressive but I this is very major for me.

If I maintain my consistency I could be clocking a little over 260 followers by the end of the month.

Story Stats

This particular area is one that I cherish so much but I know for sure that I am not where I want to be.

The graph indicates that the overall read ratio on my stories is approximately 48% which is not so great. I agree.

However, I have been learning some tips to help me craft better titles and captivating introductions that’ll keep readers hooked for them to stay on my stories for at least 30 seconds.

It’s a learning process and I am hoping and actively working to do better in the coming days.

Partner Program Earnings

Only twelve of my fourteen stories have been published as of now. Since I joined Medium, I have published 26 stories but because I got monetized in February, only my stories in February (except for one in late January on which I activated a paywall this month) are generating earnings.

So after 13 stories and 14 days, here are my total earnings:

In as much as I’d love for the point between the 7 and the 0 to vanish, I’m grateful for how far I have come. I believe this is a pretty decent start and it encourages me to do better everyday.

If you’re also just starting out, just know that it is possible to make some decent cash on this platform but you would have to put in the work.

That’s a non-negotiable.

Currently, my plan is to keep writing an article a day, keep reading and engaging with other writers’ stories, and keep checking my stats to see what is working and what isn’t.
