About Me — Sompa Mensah

I am a blend of STEM and the Arts

The name is Sompa Mensah, and I am a writer, tech enthusiast, and a singer. I wish i could add “. . .and a dancer” to the previous sentence but I’m terrible at it to be frank. I’m a firm believer of the fact that you can do anything you set your mind to which means I can become the next Michael Jackson or Chris Brown before you know it.

The name “Sompa” is from the Ghanaian local language, Twi, and it means “good service” so chances are that you’re going to love me should I render any service to you :)

I have a degree in Engineering but when I’m away from all the math and physics, I practically immerse myself in the world of creatives.

Hence my subtitle.

I love to learn new languages and I also appreciate art a lot even though I don’t understand it all the time. I used to draw as a kid but I have not really nurtured that gift. Maybe I’ll do that someday.

I joined Medium in the last week of November 2023 and I’m already loving it. Before I joined Medium I was a part-time freelance writer at Freelancer.com. Well, I’m still pretty much a part-time freelance writer over there. You can take a look at my portfolio here.

My goal on Medium is to build a community with many other wonderful writers and be a part of this great knowledge-sharing platform.

Yeah, totally. But that’s like the answer I’d give if I were in an interview. I’m also here to make money through my writing just like you because we deserve to be rewarded for our art as writers, right?

I write about a lot of things but I am passionate about self-improvement, life experiences, technology, fiction, and travel (even though I’m yet to travel anywhere).

On somedays, I’m funny, on other days my attempts are equivalent to dad jokes.
