POETRY ON MEDIUM
Golden Whispers In The Night
I Need You

I lie in wait for want of precious clarity
Sheer drapes finally alight with the golden wind of your invitation
Summoning prompting me to retake my place
It matters not the time nor pangs of hunger streaking my face gaunt in the blinking light of the witching-hour
I sit with all alacrity keys beneath fiddly fingers jumping and tapping frantically
That mystical resource creativity clouding up around me my muse I am breathing you in
Expelling great opaque dream-clouds filled with poetry ready to portion out
I dive in swimming away splashing around in my poems all day

This is a response to prompt “What Does Poetry Whisper to You?”
With the changes here on Medium I have pivoted and have been spending the bulk of my time on other projects. Nothing is accomplished by crying and complaining. John Hansen tagged me in a lovely piece this morning
however, and I felt the call, so I jotted this bit down. Thanks so much John. You really know how to petition the muse and send her along.
I suppose I should pay it forward. Just a little inspo. Something I am incorporating into my Substack… stack. Once per-month I have an article including a muse-centric poem and a bit on inspiration. Sorry for the self-promotion. I guess that is what life is like now. :(
Oh well, gotta get writing. ❤ ❤ ❤
