A Writing Prompt
My Muse Whispers to Me
What Does Poetry Whisper to You?

I listen longingly at night, every murmur lights my soul. A whisper or a breath of air could be my muse’s call.
She whispers, “It is time, my friend - arise and take your pen. I know the midnight hour is here, but your writing must begin.
There’s poetry that must be writ’ and words to pass along, to motivate, teach, and inspire, like the lyrics of a song.”
Never should I shun these words my wise muse whispers me. The rhymes and poetry I pen are gifts bestowed, you see.
When all the World’s in conflict, and tragedies befall, my muse summons me from sleep, and I must heed the call.
Or if a friend is troubled, and for answers they’re in need, a hand rests on my shoulder, and poetic words are freed.
