Summary

The undefined website announces a November Writing Challenge, encouraging writers to engage daily with prompts focused on gratitude, without strict rules, and fostering a supportive peer review environment.

Abstract

The November Writing Challenge is an initiative designed to inspire writers to create content based on daily prompts centered around the theme of gratitude. Participants are encouraged to start each weekday of November with a new prompt, reflect on it, and then dedicate at least an hour to crafting a response. The challenge emphasizes the importance of gratitude and its positive impact on life. Writers are invited to publish their work in the Bacon and Beach Day Publication, where they can receive and provide constructive feedback using a structured "rose, thorn, bud" peer review approach. This method involves commenting on what one appreciates, what could be improved, and suggesting potential developments in the writing. The challenge's organizer has prepared by drafting responses to each prompt, setting an example for participants. Graphics accompanying each week's prompts have been created by the author to visually inspire participants. The website also provides links to past writing challenges, indicating a pattern of monthly writing events with the consistent philosophy of having no rules.

Now, don’t be upset if you didn’t get to contribute to October’s challenge or you didn’t get to contribute the way you wanted to. There’s a new one for November!

Starting November 1st there is a new writing challenge! For every weekday in November, I have posted a short writing prompt. The idea is to read the prompt and chew on it for a while before writing. Then, respond to the post for at least one hour. Post your response to the Bacon and Beach Day Publication where like-minded writers can respond to your work and you can respond to others. I have suggested that we use the rose, thorn, bud style of peer review. This means we comment on one thing we love or appreciate about the work, one thing we think needs work, and one thing that you think the author can develop either in that piece or another.

Now, let me tell you how I have prepared myself for next month’s challenge which is only a few days away. First, I have taken each prompt and created a draft. My title is the prompt, the subtitle is the date, and then I chose an image that relates to my gut reaction to the quote.

This month I have provided questions that make us think about gratitude and the ways we can be more grateful. Practicing gratitude has changed my life. I hope that reflecting on your gratitude will do the same for you! We all have something to be grateful for! Have fun!
