From Aliens to Zeeliens — The Restart

Part 18

Our problems began when the Aliens arrived. They were helpful and had access to unlimited energy. We used them like slaves, and when they realized our greed had no limit, they called their handlers.

It had been a test, and we had failed.

The Zeeliens came and told us we weren’t ready to join the Federation. “It’s OK if you don’t succeed on your first try, or even on your seventeenth, as is your case. We will help you start anew.”

They used some unknown and incomprehensible science to spin us back in time. We lost all our technology and achievements. Within a year, only one percent of us were left and back to the Stone Age.

I’m one of the chosen. We are twelve Wisdomers with memory banks filled to the brim by the Aliens.

But I think they made a mistake.

I’m a dodo bird, and nobody wants to listen to me.
