From 9 to 5 job to Self-employment-Up Your Game With This Blueprint
A guide to quitting 9–5 and Start earning $5000 a month

2020 shook me up!
Depressed, stressed, exhausted, and what not!
When I was working 9 to 5, don’t ask how miserable my life was.
I had no time for myself, so yeah…forget about doing things that I loved. All I did was work and come back home to sleep so that I could wake up early and repeat the cycle again the next day.
One day a friend (He is an Awesome Entrepreneur) asked:
- Will you keep working like this forever?
- I’m done with your “One day, someday” notion. When will you start working on your own thing?
We all make resolutions. But how many of us actually follow up on them?
I’ve always wanted to build a self-employed individual. But I never got around to doing it.
My friend’s question made me realize that if not now, then when?
My resolution for 2021 was…
“I’ll be self-employed in 2021. I’ll quit my job.”
Yesss! I showed courage and quit my job in Jan 2021.
So, ask me;
Was it scary?
Yes, a bit
What I got from it?
The sense of freedom and possibility. Exactly like Jlo travel stories (the girl in my featured image) 😊😊😊
Do you want to be self-employed in 2022?
2021 was my year to become self-employed. Are you ready to make 2022 your year when you bid farewell to your job and start your own thing?
If yes, my roadmap will help you.
Step no 1: Discover what works for you
Do you have a skill that is in demand?
If yes, then it’s your time to start working on getting clients without wasting time:
Here, my three blogs will help you:
1) Make $1000 A Month Real Fast Using Zip Recruiter
In this blog, I’ve explained a single method that, let alone will help you make $1000 a month real fast!
2) Earn $1000 A Month By Using This Super Easy Method — Get Big Clients

3) How Can You Make $5000 With Cold-Emails? A To Z Guide
In this blog post, you will learn how I made $5000 from cold emails in just 3 months, the strategies you can use to get 10 high-paying clients from cold emails alone.
Now, those who haven’t found what they are good at, continue with this blog.
If you are still figuring out what you are good at, create an excel sheet for your skills and the services you can offer.
Once your skills & services are listed in one place, look for clients who need these services (I’ve already given links to the blogs that will help you find clients.)
Step no 2: State your U.S.P
What are some problems you want to solve with your business?
How are you different from other businesses?
What is your Unique Selling Point (U.S.P)?
Make a brand for yourself by creating an outline of your business plan.
Remember, the idea behind this step is to make it easy for people who want to hire you or buy products that you sell.
Your U.S.P should be clear on your website, social media platforms, and all the communications you have with clients or customers.
Step no. 3: Figure out what you need to get started
What are some of the things you will need to start your business?
Do you need a laptop, internet connection, a website, help of a graphic designer to create your logo?
No matter what you need, make sure that it is available and affordable.
If something does not directly come under the budget of $100, then find free alternatives.
For example, I did not have money to hire a designer, so I decided to design my own logo for now (Gladly learned Graphic Designing at University)
Step no. 4: Create a roadmap
Now you have all the information about setting up your business, what can stop you from doing this?
Nothing!
Now create a timeline of how long each step will take and when are you planning to complete them by?
For example, You’ve completed copywriting, and now your next step is to look for clients.
When you have a clear idea of what needs to be done, it becomes easier to do them and keep track of your progress so that there are no unforeseen circumstances along the way.
Step no. 5: Get started with freelancing as a side hustle first
Please don’t leave your job just because I said it…
If you are the family’s breadwinner or have other commitments, then it is best to start freelancing as a side hustle first.
This will give you an idea about how much time and effort you need to get clients; moreover, this will also help you save some money.
Once your business is up and running, slowly phase out your job and become a self-employed individual.
Step no 6: Networking is the main key
Networking is the key to success, whether you are starting from scratch or have been in the business for a while.
Attend events, meetups, and webinars where your target market is active.
If you can’t go out, use LinkedIn. LinkedIn is a great platform to connect with people who can help you in your journey.
Don’t be shy to reach out and ask for help. Most people are more than happy to offer their advice or introduce you to someone they know.
The more people you know in your industry, the better your chances of getting referrals and clients.
I’ve written a blog on getting clients from LinkedIn in 2022. You can check it out:
Step no 7: Don’t say NO to small gigs
It is best to take on all the small gigs that come your way when you are starting out.
This will help you build a portfolio as well as gain experience.
In time, you can start turning down projects that do not fit in with your business goals or are not worth your time and effort.
Step no 8: Please choose Consistency over Procrastination
It is easy to fall into the trap of doing things just because you have some time off.
Don’t use your free time to binge-watch Netflix or go shopping; instead, work on promoting your business, sending emails to past clients, etc.
You need more than a few hours every once in a while for freelancing as a full-time job.
Being consistent with your work ethic is more important than being productive for a short burst of time.
These are the steps that I followed when I transitioned from my day job to self-employment, and it worked out very well for me.
Are you ready to take a pledge to be self-employed in 2022?
If yes, I want you all to write in the comments.

You’ll be NOTIFIED.
Isn’t it EXCITING?
