You hesitate, torn between fight and flight.

With a feral shriek, the shade lunges. You dive aside, scrambling into the maze of shadowy tunnels branching off the tower’s foyer.

The thing’s howls echo as you flee blindly into the dark.

You run and run as the walls press closer. Somewhere, lost in this nightmare, lies the sorcerer’s hoard. But for now, only escape matters.

You come to a dead end. The shade’s shrieking is getting closer.

You feel a door to your right and left: The right is heavy metal. The left is wood and flimsy.
