Finally, the Sniffer Mob is Coming in Minecraft Update 1.20
In their 1.20 feature announcement, Mojang has announced the inclusion of the Sniffer.

Mojang has announced a new Minecraft 1.20 reveal, which features the Sniffer mob. The Sniffer was the winner of the community mob vote last summer, and it is a large, mossy creature that can sniff out ancient seeds that can be grown into unique decorative plants.
While we don’t know what other features will be included in the upcoming Minecraft 1.20 update, Mojang has been teasing its community with announcements and reveals of new features. It’s clear that they’re working hard to make this update a big one, with both the Sniffer mob and the archeology feature being highly anticipated by fans.
More about the Sniffer
The Sniffer mob is an interesting addition to the game, as it allows players to find and grow unique decorative plants. This is a departure from the usual focus on combat and survival, and it could potentially add a new layer of gameplay to Minecraft.
The fact that players can hatch Sniffer eggs and raise baby snifflets is also a nice touch, as it adds a sense of care and responsibility to the game.
Other features coming in update 1.20
In addition to the Sniffer, Mojang has also introduced archeology sites near desert temples, which will be the primary source of Sniffer eggs.
This new feature adds more variety to the game’s terrain generation, and it also ties in nicely with the Sniffer’s ability to find ancient seeds. It will be interesting to see how players interact with these new sites and how they affect gameplay.
Mojang has also revealed that the first snapshot iteration of the Sniffer will be found in creative mode. This means that players can experiment with the mob without the usual survival constraints, and it will likely result in some interesting builds and creations.
Of course, the true challenge will come when the Sniffer is added to the survival mode, and players will have to balance their exploration and gather with the dangers of the world.
Final Words
The Sniffer mob is shaping up to be a great addition to Minecraft, and fans eagerly anticipate its release.
With more features still to be announced, it’s clear that Mojang is putting a lot of effort into the upcoming 1.20 update, and it’s sure to be a big one.
I can’t wait to see what else they have in store for us!
