Fear, Fear… the Zombie in the Dark

A chapter of a ‘choose your own’ story — Drabble edition!

You decide to face the dwarf.

“I know you’re a zombie,” you say, “but what am I?”

“Facing your final hour…”

“Ha. Gimme a slice with cheese-stuffed crust — then I’ll fear for my health!”

But you splash backwards into a puddle among the trees. Snakes emerge from his mouth.

“Snakes? Why’d it have to be…?”

The snakes explode into fire — relief! — but reappear like phoenixes, and tie you to the roots.

Hot pain!

“Alas, cruel life,” you announce, “’twas but a foolish trifle. And now — farewell! Death only knows when we shall meet again.”

You see pizza drivers rushing to your aid, but it’s a mirage…

You are dead.
