Family Love
It’s not always like this
I met my wife back in December 2011, so we are approaching ten years together, and we have been married since July 2015. I am sure you have read about the story of how we met. If not, it is linked below.
I have a son, who is now twenty and studying Japanese in University; he has had a broken life after moving around so much with his mother, aged fifteen, he had moved twenty-one times.
Unfortunately, I never had the opportunity for him to live with me, we did go on holiday every year, and I saw him on weekends and over the Christmas period.
He did end up moving in with us when he turned of age to do so in the UK, which is sixteen and stayed with us until he went to University, I loved seeing him every day, and our bond, which was already strong, grew even stronger.
Next, we have my oldest daughter, who is about to turn four next month; she is the apple in my eye. We have such a strong connection, and she is a real daddy’s girl.
When I walk in from work, she runs up to me for a cuddle (called a Cwtch in Wales, where I live) and tells me that she has missed me and loves me. It is such a lovely welcome home, and she melts my heart.
Then we have my one-year-old. I have already written a heartbreaking story about her, which you can read below.
We are bonding more daily; she now followers her sister to come and say hello to me every day when I come home from work; her little face lights up with a smile-however, I still carry some guilt about what happened, so I will probably spend more time with her at the moment.
Then I guess there is self-love. I try to love myself, as I know that is part of being happy in life. So I do not get too down about things that would bother the average person, and I also don’t get too excited about things either, so I try to balance my family life.
I do have to work on my relationships, as I am not the perfect man, and I always try to see what I can improve on or do better as a person before I look and complain about other people.
I don’t need to work on love, which comes naturally to the family and me.
