Faith in an African Violet
A mixture of consistency and love brings rewards

Each weekend I water my plants in my garden window. My lucky bamboo and my cyclamen I water daily, but all of the others receive a weekly drink. All of these plants have grown so much over the past year, along with me. I consider them to be my partners in the universe, reaching, changing, and adapting along the way. On my 100-day journey of abundance each day, I am delighted by the surprises all around me. Today was no exception. As I was watering my plants, I saw that my African violet was covered with flower buds! Just the other day, I thought I needed to get some fertilizer for it. The only thing it needed was the care and attention I had already given it.
Today I am offering a poem to my plant, thanking it for providing an abundance of joy to me today.
Verdant green leaves, Growing into a mound of joy, Your roots seek refreshment, From a weekly drink.
Soft and delicate, Yet strong and radiant, Reaching toward the light, In every season.
Violet blossoms are hidden, Beneath your protective gaze, Surprising me with abundance, On this very day.
You have taught me to care, With a gentle hand, Your living love for life, Flowing from your presence.
I remember my Grandma Marion lovingly grew lots of African violets. Her dining table was covered with them, and she always knew how to bring forth their blooms. I feel her presence with me today, seeing the purple jewels of buds on my plant. Thank you, Grandma, for sending your love to me today.
My prayer and my intention for you today is to think of something that you care for with consistency and love. What gifts has it brought to you? What have you learned from it?
Day #20: What do you care for with consistency and love?
