Embracing Life As Fleeting

Day 28: Viewing everything in life as temporary helps us cherish each day

Calm, serene, and quiet. That was nature’s message to me this morning on my walk around our back garden. I am embracing these fleeting days of summer, knowing that fall is just around the corner. The beauty of flowers blooming and tasting a ripe, juicy peach are some of summer’s pleasures. Truly taking in each moment, I learn more each day as I explore for 100 days the book The Infinite Self by Stuart Wilde.

Knowing that every day is a little bit different, every moment is new, and where I am right now may be temporary, brings an energy of appreciation for life. We don’t know what will happen tomorrow, so at this moment, let us fill our hearts with joy. Each day we are adding to the collective spirit by creating and sharing our talents and our hearts. When we do that, we can be sure that our legacy lives on.

As you begin to embrace the infinity within you, you can avoid most of the anguish of life by being free inside yourself — even if current circumstances don’t allow you to be completely free yet — by accepting flow and by accepting that today you’re here, and tomorrow you’re not necessarily here. -Stuart Wilde

Gradually learning to be more in the present moment, more in the flow of life, and not planning a lot beyond today is becoming a practice for me. Each morning I practice this by going outside to walk. Every day there is a new message from nature on my walk. I never know what that message will be or what I will experience. This small exercise in embracing life as it is helping me to let myself go with the flow of life.

As you pull out of the insecurity about death, it makes you more comfortable with change of all sorts. Nothing is permanent. Enjoy your relationships while you can. They may last a lifetime; they may not. Enjoy the place you are in while you can. It may last a lifetime; it may not. Enjoy the job you’re in, and know when things change, they change to help you. They change to liberate you, taking you to a different place, a higher level of energy. -Stuart Wilde

Life is starting to become a beautiful path of not knowing. I used to try complicated planners, notebooks, and calendars. Just yesterday, I cleaned out a basket of folders. I found two planners that I no longer used. One planner I never even opened. There were lots of papers in there that no longer have significance or use for me in my present moment. It felt like the energy shifted once I recycled those papers and set aside the planners to give away.

Now I find that all I need is a box of post-it notes, a plain notebook or some printer paper and a pen. I write a post-it for each task, write above it the day I plan to do it, and that is it. If I am not able to do that task on the day assigned, I assign it a different day and let it go. I am starting to let go of being so busy all of the time. Trusting life to give me the next step every day frees me to experience and love my days. I am free to be me.

Energy is the only real security. When you create energy for people, it heightens their security. It makes them feel safer; they respond positively. -Stuart Wilde

It is so freeing to know that by creating energy every day, I can help others. I can help them feel more positive about their days and themselves. That brings so much joy to everyone’s hearts. There is an abundance of energy to create at every moment. Each word that you write, each bit of color that you paint on a canvas, each sentence that you utter will carry energy with it. Make it uplifting, positive, and helpful. This will help spread good energy to everyone.

My prayer and intention for you today is that you embrace each beautiful moment of the day. You can plan a little bit, maybe for the next few days, but leave each day open a bit for the mystery of life. What energy can you create right now? What can you share today to uplift yourself and others? How are you embracing today?

What energy are you creating at this moment?
