Do You Know What Zuckerberg Does In Italy? 4 Curious Visits Plus One
Facebook Founder and his wife were in Siena, Torino and Milan: here is why
This week Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan visited Italy. If the couple was in Siena last weekend, then they were in Turin and Milan. These places have hosted at least four curious and significant visits. Plus an institutional one.
PIEDMONT
In Turin, the Zuckerbergs visited the Egyptian Museum. Then they indulged in a romantic lunch in a starred restaurant. Various media reports his movements, including Il Corriere della Sera.
They ate the inevitable agnolotti and the Piedmontese salad. These are the 2 most representative dishes of the region. They did not match them with wine, but with cranberry and apple juice.
Zuckerberg also asked where Camillo Benso di Cavour sat. In fact, they chose a historic venue. Puccini, Verdi, D’Annunzio, Maria Callas, and Audrey Hepburn passed by there.
CHOCOLATE
Mark Zuckerberg visited a historic Piedmontese chocolate shop. The founder of Facebook and his wife saw the laboratory and tasted the Turin pralines. Even La Repubblica, for example, has told it.
The love story between the two spouses began right over a cup of hot chocolate. So the Italian company gave them a kit to produce it in the physical world and in the Metaverse.
The latter is the new technological dimension that will mix real and digital life. I already talked about it in a story on Medium.
The idea behind both the Metaverse and this chocolate is “interoperability”. In the future, the goods will be usable in everyday life and in the virtual world.
“The challenge will be how to bring these incredible perfumes to the metaverse. The technology is not yet developed as well as for the optics, but we will get there”.
Zuckerberg and the chocolate shop announced, about chocolate, in their meeting.
SMART GLASSES
Finally, Zuckerberg was in Milan for smart glasses. Here he met the greatest Italian entrepreneur in the eyewear sector. They tried an interface that allows you to control ‘smart’ glasses or other devices via your wrist. Also the Ansa Agency reported it.
To conclude, Prime Minister Mario Draghi received Zuckerberg at Palazzo Chigi. They talked about Metaverse, investment and collaboration. The Italian premier gave the founder of Facebook fine wines and extra virgin olive oil from Puglia. La Repubblica revealed it.
