Jorden Peterson has the Answer

Money rules the world. But does it also rule the dating world?

An interesting experiment reported by the well-known psychologist Dr. Jordan Peterson provides the answer.

Before we take a closer look at the study, I’d like to briefly share my guess.

Before I saw the results, I thought that money does definitely play a role. And I wouldn’t judge women for that.

It’s just that a certain amount of financial stability is extremely important. Especially when you have to choose a partner with whom you can potentially have children. After all, the child has to be fed and you want to be able to offer them something. You can’t have money problems in this situation.

Enough assumptions. Let’s see what the result of the experiment was.

The Study

The participating women were shown the same picture of a man four times. However, there was different additional information about the pictures. The men were shown in different professional situations. The whole process was repeated with several men.

The four different conditions were:

poor and useless
rich and useless
poor and useful
rich and useful

The rich and useless guy had won the lottery. No matter how useless he was. He had resources. So he could watch Netflix all day and still not have any money problems.

The poor and useful guy worked for a charity organization.

The useful men were rated high in openness and conscientiousness. These traits are good markers for intelligence and a good work ethic, which in turn are the best predictors of socio-economic status.
