Desperate Barren Wife (Part 2)

Nadia seems to have perfect life with a loving and succesful husband. But inside, she feels anxious to not give a kid yet for her man after years of marriage..

Shocked and Hurt!

Few months earlier…

In a luxurious hotel, eastern side of Dublin, a couple, Tom Mahoney and Nadia were enthralled by large people, the friends and families that attended their wedding anniversary.

Everybody in the hall stood up when the husband made a little speech and thanking all the guests for coming to their special moment.

There, on a square stage decorated by stunning white and pink roses, Tom held his wife’s hand and whispered softly, wishing her a happy anniversary for their 15 years of marriage. Then he gave a warm long kiss on her lips as a singer began to sing a romantic love song. It was truly the happiest and greatest moment for this sweet couple.

The loveful kisses occurred in almost one minute long. Some friends teased them by any sounds and whistlings to make the couple aware that they’re not alone there! The two ended the kisses with flushing face and the guests then came close and wishing the happy couple.

While receiving all the wishes, Tom repeatedly glanced to his beautiful wife. He’s so relieved to see her smiling and enjoying the moment after the recent miscarriage which had made her severely down… He specially held the party devoted for this woman he loves so much.

One more surprise was waiting for his wife. Soon, the hotel’s manager brought out a cake for the couple. It was really a wonderful big cake! Tom gave the first slice to his beautiful lady, Nadia Mahoney. And again, he landed a passionate kiss to this slender woman which absolutely made all in the room got jealous.

After the prime session of the party, all people had a dinner. Several guests were involved in light conversations. Everybody was absorbed in joys, the couple each self had parted for their friends.

After a little talks with some of her girlfriends on the second floor, Nadia wandering around amongst the guest as occasionally smiled or nodded to some of them. She looked all over the hall for seeking her husband. Threw her sight to the first floor, she then noticed that Tom had already been with all the families at the end of the stairs.

Nadia, looked at the family members comprising her husband, Mrs. Margo her mother in law, his 2 sisters and their husbands included their kids. Tom’s father, Mr. Del Mahoney was in London for an important business.

As her eyes paying attention to the kids which were running around in any directions with of course in the excitement, her facial slightly dimmed. Nadia’s feeling which was full of joys, gradually faded to realize that only her in the family who had no kids… She got lonely in an instant…

The kids then came around Tom. Those three cute girls started clapping and wishing the beefy uncle a happy anniversary. Tom mimicked a delightful face to receive all the funny and innocent wishes.

He pulled up the smallest girl keenly, lifting her in the air and then brought back the cute baby to his elbow and repeatedly giving kisses on her red cheeks which made the little niece chuckled as rubbing his beard. Tom appeared enjoying the moment so much!

Nadia felt like there was a brick pressed her chests by seeing it. She felt guilty for being a barren wife…

Slightly losing enthusiasm, she stepped down, Tom smiled at her while still cradling his niece. Nadia smiled back a little. From his gesture and those sparkled brown eyes, she could catch there’s a great longing for having a kid from this cool guy…

Mrs. Margo who stood beside Tom, stared at her with cold eyesight. Gulped her saliva, Nadia looked down her steps, she knew the things in her mother in law’s mind…a dissatisfaction…the impatience...!

Nadia walked close to the happy family, Tom kissed her after putting the little girl down. “I love you,” He gazed his woman with a great love as usual. But, suddenly a friend dragged him. He could only shrug and looking at her as if said sorry before turning around to the crowd. Nadia let her loving man with his close friends again.

Awkwardly she then opened a little conversation with Mrs. Margo. Just a small talk.

Actually she always gets that a not so comfortable feeling to be close with the mother in law. She’s a classy lady and perfectionist. Nadia seldom has a thought that all things she did and she said in front of everybody was fake, which only to make she appears to have a good manner as every classy woman should have…

Nadia feels Mrs. Margo has completely become apathetic to her, especially when she couldn’t give her a grandchild yet after for years marrying her son. Tom is expected to continue the Mahoney’s family name since he’s only the son in that prominent family.

Nadia was thinking about to leave her mother in law when she saw a mature lady came to their direction as grinning from ear to ear. Mrs. Margo detained Nadia to introduce her to the woman who was already coming close.

She’s a fat woman, looked so conspicuous with a colorful floral gown. Mrs. Margo cheerfully greeted the guest who she knew then, that she’s Mrs. Margo’s friend from Tennessee.

The time Mrs. Margo introduced her to Nadia, immediately the fat woman raised one of her eyebrows, eyed her in strange expression as if try to think or remembering something...and then she gave a cynical smile as said, “You must be Tom’s barren wife, right?” The fat woman stared at her like one who had no any sensitivity!

Nadia was staggered to get her straightforward words! She got befuddled for seconds...

When she glanced aside, Nadia saw Mrs. Margo was gaping, looked at her face in shamefaced as then let out awkward short laughing. She seemed to feel embarrassed and quickly tried to change the topic. However, through the jolly face she made, Nadia could notice that her mother in law had given her a brief sharp looking while they’re both talking. Those eyes must be telling that the daughter in law has been disgracing her!

Nadia then found the spiteful woman began to scrutinizing her from up to down as if examining her marriage and about to write a big “barren wife” in her forehead!

Though she felt degraded, Nadia managed herself to appear as natural as possible, trying to not affected by her sudden judging. But, in desperate attempt to hold her eyes from watering, she could only forced a little smile, and then caught on the throat, she said politely to leave them.

And without waiting their responses, she aimlessly walked away from there which was definitely the most thing she wanted to do on her mind.

As tried to hold back the tears which began to fill her eyes, she tried to find her direction. The first she saw through the blurred sight, was the door at the side of the hall.

Nadia made her way to it...but then slowed down her walks as she could still hear the fat woman kept talking about her with Mrs. Margo…! There was a large pillar which had a rounded dragon ornament on it. She turned aside quietly and stood behind it because of feeling curious to knowing their conversation. No people around there.

The spiteful woman sounded, “So, you still keep her with your son? If I were you, I would ask her to go away!”

Nadia blinked by the words, a tear fell down her cheeks. She sharpened her ears and slightly leaned the left side of her head against the pillar.

After no words for a while… “I can’t do anything with that. My son seems to love her so much. Honestly, I don’t like her anymore!”

Nadia could hear clearly what Mrs. Margo had said about her in the back. She was shocked and quivered…!

“Let me give you advice, persuade your son to leave her! Don’t waste his whole life for a barren woman! Fifteen years, and you didn’t do anything? I can’t believe!!”

“I’ll be considering it.”

Hearing her mother in law said that, Nadia stood like one in a trance…! Though she knows for sure that Tom’s mom doesn’t like her, it hurts to get a reality that she had said those statements with other people bluntly! She wanted Tom marrying another woman and urging the son to leave her!

Nadia was really wanting to fly away as far as she could…! But she could only wiped her tears… Felt shattered, she walked in hurry toward the exit door she found before.

In her way, at a glance, she could see her husband was still engrossed talking with his friends. However, Tom could recognize her. He smiled as slightly waving his hand, but Nadia refused to meet his eyes and walked away…!

Nadia knew, thought her attempt to hide the tears, her husband must have noticed that there’s something wrong with her behaviour…
