Mark Cuban, who was born in 1958 has never been afraid to take chances during his career.

“Always wake up with a smile knowing that today you are going to have fun accomplishing what others are too afraid to do.”

After creating start ups and reselling for profit, Cuban has built a personal empire that puts him on the Forbes list of wealthiest people. Now, if that’s your thing, it’s just great. If nothing else, Mark knows how to make money.

To his credit, he did start a fund for families of fallen military personnel.

National Jump for Jelly Beans Day — Did you know these tasty treats were inspired by Turkish Delight which had been around since the eighteenth century?

The first mention of Jelly Beans was during the American Civil War when the company’s founder, William Schrafft wanted to send them to the Union Army as a promotion. Yep, even the Civil War was advertising fodder.

Musical Ride

Nobody doe public spats like rock musicians. This time, Glenn Frey and Don Felder got into it on stage at a California fundraiser for a Senator in 1980. After the Eagles show, Felder smashed his guitar and walked off into the night, and Frey quit the band.

Long Night at Wrong Beach was The Eagle’s last performance until they famously reunited fourteen years later with the Hell Freezes Over tour.

NASA’s fourth mission to the moon in 1971, Apollo 15 was the first landing where astronauts rode a moon rover.

Gone But Not Forgotten

Alan Parker may not be a household name filmmaker, but he should be one. Parker, who died last year, directed musicals like The Commitments, as well as acclaimed dramas such as Mississippi Burning and Angela’s Ashes. Alan Parker was 76.
