George Guy is the son of sharecroppers from Louisiana who was born in 1936. Twenty years later, Buddy Guy packed his guitar and moved to Chicago to become the king of Chicago Blues.

“If you don’t think you have the blues, just keep living.”

Buddy has been an influence on every major rock guitarist in history. If you have never seen him play live, what are you waiting for? Luckily, at only 75-years-young, you still have some time.

Musical Ride

Remember the SARS epidemic in 2003? For some reason, the city of Toronto was hit hardest by the virus scare and over that summer was losing tourism dollars.

The Rolling Stones came along and put on a benefit concert to coax people back to the ‘Big Smoke’. SARSfest featured an entire day of performances from The Guess Who, Rush, and The Blues Brothers with Jim Belushi filling in for his late brother, John.

The Stones closed the event after AC/DC took the stage and knocked it out of the park. Justin Timberlake didn’t fare so well, getting pelted and booed off the stage.

Here’s one from the Rush set that day.
