Mary Teresa Bojaxhiu was born in Albania in 1910. She had a calling from early childhood to serve humanity.

Mother Teresa understood that the simplicity of a message is what makes it most powerful.

“Peace begins with a smile”

Fluent in five languages, Mother Teresa used her skills around the globe to broker peaceful solutions. She had no fear of entering harm’s way and often found herself on the frontlines of conflict. But, most of all she was a champion for the extreme poor.

She began the Missionaries of Charity mission with twelve people. By 1996, that number grew to thousands and she had 517 missions operating in more than a hundred countries.

Today is:

Cherry Popsicle Day — A fine way to beat the heat

Dog Appreciation Day — there isn’t a day I don’t appreciate mine.

Musical Ride

It was another financial disaster but the music was massive. It was also the last time Hendrix performed for an English audience.
