Eighteen months after she was born in 1965, Marlee Matlin lost most of her hearing from an illness. But, that impairment never stopped the young girl from achieving her dreams.
“I hope I inspire people who hear. Hearing people have the ability to remove barriers that prevent deaf people from achieving their dreams.”
Marlee Matlin is an academy award-winning actress and an accomplished author. At the time, she was the youngest actress to win the Best Actress award.
