A natural redhead born in Dublin, Ireland in 1920, Maureen O’Hara was nearly left behind until Charles Laughton brought her to Hollywood. John Ford was a favored director and John Wayne became one of her closest friends.

Maureen received the name Queen of Technicolor for reasons other than just her hair. People often thought she and Wayne were lovers because of their screen chemistry. Their performance together in The Quiet Man is extraordinarily realistic. But, she was always quick to sternly correct the rumor mongers.
