Day 27–100 Days 100 Ways Being Visible
I take more actions to be visible

I have recently purposely taken the following action to practise being visible:
- Last Thursday, I shared draft marketing material with colleagues at the Speaking to Sell workshop and received valuable feedback. I volunteered to show my work, I asked for feedback, and I offered feedback. I was conscious of practising being present and being visible. I mention this today because I wrote a longer article on a different topic on the day of the course.
- Today, I repurposed and edited a blog previously used in a training course and published it on Medium. What to do about THAT complaint: How to deal with the complaints you make over and over again. Please read the article and if the topic resonates with you, post a response and share it with colleagues.
- This week and today, I have written responses to other people’s work on Medium and other platforms and started following three new people and two new topics. In the past, you guessed it; I have practised not being visible by not commenting and not following people.
This week I commit to investing time in the following three areas:
- I will spend six hours on Tuesday working on my online course and its promotion.
- I will spend three hours between Wednesday and Friday on direct sales work, either telephoning or emailing people as most appropriate.
- I will spend five hours before Friday afternoon working on my Generative Leadership Course. (I have allowed my self to fall behind on meeting my commitments to this program over the past three weeks.)
Only the course and sales work are directly about being visible. The third relates to my long term goal of continually developing my professional skills in the ontological/generative leadership discourse so I can more effectively coach senior executives and high-performance teams.
Knowledge
I know that it generally works for me to make public declarations of what I will do in the week to come. Somehow it occurs as more important to be consistent with public declarations than private declarations or promises to myself.
Progress
I continue to make progress by publishing work other than my 100 Days articles and finding other ways to be visible. My participation in 100 Days 100 Ways continues to be a motivation. I am aware that I do not have a clear measure of whether I am on track or not to win gold in the being-present game I declared. My gut feel says that winning gold is still well possible.
