David Hawke and the Reverse Heist!
A continuation of the documentary that the world will never see.

“David,” Hannah said hesitantly, “I can’t let you out…”
“But why-” David began to say.
“And lose out on the discovery of a lifetime?” a tall man with slicked-back hair announced loudly as he strode into the room. He wore a tight-fitted suit with the name Kronos Corp embroidered just below the breast pocket. “Well, discovery is subjective after all,” he chuckled.
“Nayte!” Hannah said with a shocked tone. She stood at attention and nervously rubbed her hands. “I didn’t know you were here.”
“And miss out on the family reunion?” Nayte gestured to the room Okiba was locked in. “I could never!”
“Wait a minute,” David said suspiciously. “Did you know about the wolf girls already?”
“Of course. It was my lab that made them,” Nayte stifled a laugh.
“Made?”
“Did you really think they naturally evolved into wolf-girl hybrids? It was one of Doctor Swan’s best works. It’s a shame she never got to see her work mature…” Nayte said with a somber tone.
“Did you know about this?” David looked to Hannah.
“I-” Hannah began to say before she stopped herself short. Instead, she stared at her feet in silence.
“You’ll never get away with this,” David growled.
“I already have,” Nayte said with a flourish of his hand. “Do you have any idea how many sacks of money people will hand over for their own personal wolf girl?”
“You’re disgusting…”
“It’s nothing personal, kid. Just business.” He made his way out and paused in the doorway. “Oh Hannah, terminate this one for me. There’s no market for mutts.”
David’s eyes went wide while the hair on his back stood on end. A low growl rumbled from his chest as his mind raced to formulate a plan. He couldn’t let the wolf clan be sold like cattle.
“You have thirty seconds,” Hannah said plainly.
“What?” David said taken aback.
“You have thirty seconds before the alarm goes off,” she said while rapidly typing a command into the computer.
David stared at her dumbfounded as the door to his cage swung open. “Why are you doing this?”
“I had no idea all this was going on. We were all lied to from the beginning.” She pointed to the door and urged David to leave. “You have to hurry!”
He nodded and bolted out of the cage and through the doorway. He burst into Okiba’s room and growled. “Hands up, this is a robbery!” He then grabbed the scientist on duty and threw him across the room with amazing ease.
“David!” Okiba said excitedly, her wolf tail began to wag idly.
“Cover your face,” David quickly. She nodded and used her tail to mask her face. He turn and smashed the computer which erupted in a small explosion. Smoke began to waft to the ceiling as a loud siren began to wail. Seconds later, Okiba’s cage door swung open.
She leaped into David’s arms and nuzzled her nose into the crook of his neck. “You came for me…”
David smiled and embraced her tightly. “I came back for all of you, but we can continue this later. Right now we need to leave.”
“Right,” she said.
Together they burst out into the hallway. One by one, the other wolf girls poured out into the hallway with them as their cage doors opened because of the fire alarm. Hannah hurriedly ran toward them and pointed down the hall. “The exit is that way!”
With an affirmative nod, David led the pack through the lab and out of the building. His heart soared with overwhelming joy. They were free! He would be able to return the wolf girls to their home and everything could back to normal. As they crested the snowy hill he paused for a moment to look behind him.
Nayte Calarook stood outside the lab with a sinister grin. His fist clutched Hannah’s hair while he pointed a gun at her head.
“Like I said, David, it’s nothing personal. Just business. Now I want my money back or it’s her life.”
