Dark Isn’t That Dark and Scary After All

Beauty of a dark night that follows the vibrant colors of dusk

I kiss the sun goodbye as dusk falls in all it’s divinity, somewhere in between the explosion of a hundred shades of orange and red in the sky and eerie darkness of a cold, frightful night.

it blends in with both evenly, unbiased i hear crickets chirp their goodbyes to birds, i see happy and full strays retreat into the woods, warmth of the day lingers around a little more till a gust of cold wind bids it a goodbye.

and a feeling of freedom falls upon me with dusk, i could put five and seven and five syllables together and present the setting sun with a heartfelt haiku, to voice my strong desire to fly to the other side of the mountain and savor another golden minute.

i could light up candles and let an army of moths follow me around and go back to being a kid, who always thought that stars are little holes poked by dusk in the sky to let light and air in,

to go easy into a good night and realize that dark isn’t that dark and scary after all.
