It must be so satisfying to look your critics in the eye and say, here it is. A book.

Given how depressing the last few years have been, a book similar to this in tone and format would certainly be welcome.

These stories are like small plates of something that is sure to become more palatable over time.

One can only laugh for so long. This book understands that.

I predict that hindsight is going to make this book quite interesting.

The creative malaise brought on by the pandemic impacted a surprisingly small percentage of the writing here.

Bravo! This is what can be achieved when people work together. Occasionally. Over a span of months.

People will love discovering this! It’ll be like finding a lost idol in a spider-filled cave after spending weeks hacking through a sweltering jungle.

You’ve chosen the best stories from MuddyUm. That must have been incredibly difficult.

So smart keeping the stories short. For so many reasons.

As I was reading this, I thought, now here’s a bunch of people l would never meet under normal circumstances. Unthinkable, really.

All this in one volume? People can get through that.

How could anyone be bored with such widely varying moods and styles and levels of quality?

It was like a box of chocolates that I would have eaten piece by piece if it weren’t for my severe lactose intolerance.

“Wouldn’t You Rather Be Laughing?” is a question I often ask myself and while I was reading this, I asked it again. The answer was yes.

You put the word “humor” right there on the cover. Bold. And for me, really helpful.

This will make the perfect holiday gift. Or even re-gift.

First implies there will be more. Never hurts to know what’s coming at you.

I would place this alongside any other first volume of quixotically doomed projects you’d care to name.

Which story did I like best? I had so many favorites, don’t make me choose. I said don’t.
