Coronavirus In The Netherlands: “Mouth Masks Is A Behavior Effect”
The effect of mouth masks — more behavior effect than a protective effect.
“The virus is undergoing a dangerous advance, the numbers don’t lie.”, said Prime Minister Rutte. “We all hoped for a quiet summer, but unfortunately it is not going to be such a summer,” he said. Rute also said that what we have done to get the virus under control, is getting lost if we don’t keep up the basic rules: wash your hands dead, sneeze and cough in your elbow and keep the 1,5-meter distance.
The last night in the press conference of Prime Minister Mark Rutte of The Netherlands said that the mouth masks are just more a behavior effect than a protective effect.
In parts of The Netherlands, there will be experimented with wearing mouth masks in public spaces, as well as business owners and their staff in public spaces wear mouth masks.
“The mask probably does little to prevent the transmission of the virus. The one and a half meter are absolutely superior to the hardly contributing mask, but the mask can cause a change in behavior.”, said Prime Minister Rutte.
To locate the effects of the behavior if people wear face or mouth masks, they try it locally. “We are going to see if we can learn anything from the dental mask obligation in Rotterdam and Amsterdam,” said Rutte.
Prime Minister also asked young adolescent people to protect themselves and others by keeping the distance and wearing mouth masks when they enter busy places. At this moment, younger adolescents don’t keep the distance. And they don’t use the masks by entering busy places. They think they won’t get the virus. But nobody knows if they get the virus or not, even when you don’t have any symptoms.
