Coronavirus In The Netherlands: Horeca Entrepreneurs Worried About The Effect Of Administration
Horeca entrepreneurs worrying about the new administration measurements for their business.
Last night there was a new press conference here in The Netherlands about the Coronavirus.
We are still allowed to meet in cafes and restaurants, but we need to keep up the 1,5-meter distance. That is not happening anymore.
“In the catering industry, compliance with the basic rules weakens. We are therefore reversing an earlier relaxation,” said Prime Minister Rutte. “Inside and outside applies: we are in one place. Reservations can be made in advance and at the door and a check call. At the front you are asked to write down the name and contact details so that they can be quickly traced for contact inquiries.”, he added during the press conference.
One of them is that when people enter the cafe or restaurant, you must provide your name, address, people you were with, the time you were in the cafe or restaurant. They need your personal administration because to do source and contact research if there was an outbreak in that restaurant or cafe.
Not every cafe or restaurant entrepreneur is happy with it. They really ask themself if they need to ask their birth certificate when people entering their business.
Horeca entrepreneurs do have more administration to do and they are worrying if this new measurement really has an effect to not spread the Coronavirus, or at least protect their customers.
One of the entrepreneurs has a café and this cafe had to close last week due to contamination. The entrepreneur closed the café but was able to keep his terrace open after consultation with the municipality. “My staff wears mouth masks, I have had everything thoroughly cleaned by a professional company. If you, as an entrepreneur, do everything you can to get things back in order, what more can you expect from us?”, he says.
He also says: “I understand that it was said in the press conference that travelers from risk countries do not have to be tested for corona. So then they might end up with us in the catering industry, and then we should close? I mainly get day-trippers, who are almost not too and the corona tests are also snapshots.”
In other countries, such as Germany, you are also asked to give your contact details in case there is a Coronavirus case.
