One good day will not bring success

Consistency is important in whatever you try to do, but there are other key ingredients that need to also be present. What those might be could be a mystery. It may be something that you need to discover. Some have found that consistent effort has not exactly paid off with Medium. Writing every single day has not brought the success they desired or expected.

Success with regards to finances means that you would make as much money as you needed and wanted. Some seem to be satisfied when they earn the $100 a month which puts them in the 8% of top earners on Medium. Most would agree that they need much more than that if it is to be a successful venture which will bring in enough money that it will help pay the bills or provide a cushion.

You’ve heard it said over and over again by writers on Medium. Consistency is key. They say that you need to write and publish every day in order to achieve success. That may be true for some, but it does not happen for others. Even with consistent effort, the views and reads may not equal to much success.

Someone who wrote about success with Medium is Denys Opria who had an article titled: “From $0 to $1700 with Writing. January Review — Stats and Earnings; From 0 to 80k views in 2 months.” [That is amazing!]

Here are the exact numbers for December: 37,090 views, 17,197 reads, 599 fans, $411 earned, 17 stories, +342 followers, +3 referred members. became a Top Writer2 times

“December was the first month I started earning on Medium. It wasn’t a lot still, it was awesome to get real money from writing.”

“The numbers speak for themselves. January has a significant growth compared to December. It proves that I do the right things. Even though I’m a newbie writer. It takes time to become popular here. Still, it’s possible.”

That obviously indicates HUGE success compared to most writers on Medium. Having such great stats in so short a period of time is amazing. We all wish we could do so well. He is listed as having joined Medium in November 2021 with 1.2K following him. Congratulations to Denys, who is one of the success stories of Medium.

It is also obvious that Denys does not write and publish every day. He says that his focus is on quality instead of quantity. We should all try to have quality along with quantity as much as possible.

Consistency is good, but something more needs to be there to bring success. Some good luck would help.

It does take more than consistency to be successful on Medium. It takes some good luck and timing along with some hard work. Can we find success like Denys? We hope so, and that is why we continue to try.
