Connecting With Nature Through Flowers

In response to the DEP Poetry Prompt

The pansies in the garden With little dewdrops on them I smile when I look at them, Reconnecting me to the earth They look up connecting me to the sky.

Where do I look? I am puzzled look down at us the flowers say I find flowers galore of many colors Each blooms a whisper of nature’s embrace, Each petal a kiss, a delicate grace.

Each petal spreads its fragrance, With every fragrance, a love song is sung, In the dance of the breeze, the petals swing. In loving the flowers, I see, the beauty of nature love is received In the language of flowers.

I see a bee buzzing on the flowers, Is it taking the nectar with glee, Is it asking me to go away? Or is it asking me to join the fun? Too many questions, I am curious.

In rainbow hues, their petals open, Each delicate stroke, a message to swirl. With faces towards the sun’s tender light, Pansies beckon the soul to rediscover delight.

I stay on and see a butterfly too, I love reconnecting with nature, Looking up at the sky and whistling The gentle breeze, a whisper of grace, for the earth and sky are both one

The weather is changing from winter to spring but the change is so slow. One day there is sun and the next day it is dull, dark, cold and dim again. I went out for a walk. It was biting cold but to my surprise, so many pansies were peeping out and I wrote whatever I felt watching them, and the birds, bees and butterflies around them. Seeing the flowers you connect with the earth and the sky and everything around you in nature.
