Come Join the new Pub “Reciprocal”- A community of Supportive Writers AND Readers!

Reciprocal gives new meaning to the word “Engagement”

When I stumbled across Sahil Patel’s new publication “Reciprocal” — I instantly became addicted to its mission — — aka the purpose of the publication’s existence! I immediately resonated with the idea that Sahil has morphed from ide to an actual living and breathing thing

Here, then is a publication composed of a truly authentic community of supportive writers that have committed to writing for Reciprocal AND also including 3 links to other writers, as a way of encouraging Reciprocal writer/reader folks to read those three stories as a way of expressing solidarity in Reciprocal’s purpose.

The purpose, you see, dear reader is to support each other. We support our dream to reach as many other readers as possible by both writings for Reciprocal AND reading these three blog posts that we post in each of our published articles in Reciprocal.

And yes, I DO have a confession to make. You see, I am a long-form writer with a very real and chronic issue. I hate to write stories concerning personal things: relationships, love, that sort of thing. I struggle with this because, you must know, that I DO know that the most popular posts in Medium are NOT the articles that I so love.

No, no , and no again! You see, if you do enough reading on Medium you will quickly find that the most viral, the most popular posts are NOT “: articles- — but the stories!

I struggle to graduate from being a really low “reads” writer of articles to someday hopefully, being a storyteller. Maybe not the consummate storyteller that so many of Reciprocal’s writers have demonstrated in an authentic and compelling way, but perhaps at least in a way so that more and more folks may read my stories.

Yes, there is a difference: The article writer (me). And the consummate storyteller- he or she that is a top writer, a writer of viral stories (NOT articles).

Please DO consider joining Reciprocal- it is truly a breath of fresh air! I know the air was getting a bit stale in the Medium space .

But now I have found the publication that I hope will REALLY e permit me to share my articles/ stories AND to be fully supportive of the others in Reciprocal that write truly engaging and impactful stories!

My great appreciation and thanks to the post of @UmmeSalma in which she shared the following about Reciprocal:

The Exclusive Features of Reciprocal:

The reciprocal pub will have three columns on the homepage of the publication.

Weekly featured column: Sahil will share the writers whose work is being shared more in the post of fellow authors during a week in this column. Won’t you like to be featured based on your fellow writers’ love?

Favorite Authors of Medium: In this column, we can share who is our favorite authors, why we like to read their work, and how their writing affects our life.

As a writer, I am excited about this column most as it would be a great learning opportunity as a writer. Reading a story as a writer is slightly different as it takes that analytical skill to notice even the tiny things to understand the author’s writing style.

I am excited to share that Sahil Patel will indeed share his awesomeness with us! He has tops and trick he will share about Medium!

Please check out the details here:

Again, my gratitude to Emme- for her posting these three additional links in her Reciprocal article:

Please DO visit ( and READ!) them as well”

Danielle Hestand shared this info concerning WHY she is excited about Reciprocal:

The VERY first writer on Reciprocal — IMHO the iconic Ilana Ludia shared this — concerning why Reciprocal should be your numero-uno pub to both read AND write for:

And of course- the answer to our prayers to the Gods Unseen and Unknown- Tyra Jaide’s awesome post on “Want Reader Engagement?”:

Not sure how to do this- will try to list some of my faithful followers her- I always wondered how people listed a zillion followers in their Medium posts- but here f goes anyway- hoping my followers will join Reciprocate:

Laura Knape, Nikki Lives, Sussi Voak

I was unable to find anything in Medium support- about how to llist my many followers. I assume I would have to manually enter hundreds of them! Ummmmm Well I entered the three most recent followers. It is almost midnight — I DO have to get some sleep SOMETIME! So maybe I may just really be retarded about this listing of followers thing. Am open to being schooled on this — if anyone has a few moments…
