Summary

A survey reveals that a significant number of couples engage in sexual activity on Christmas Day, with many finding the holiday season particularly arousing and incorporating unique and sometimes unconventional locations for intimacy.

Abstract

According to a survey conducted by EdenFantasys, nearly half of the respondents (44 percent) prioritize intimacy on Christmas Day, despite the holiday season's busy nature. The survey, which included 2,000 participants, suggests a correlation between the holidays and increased sexual activity, as evidenced by the peak in birth rates in August and September. The festive season, complete with its own soundtrack that includes songs like "Jingle Bells" and "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," appears to heighten romantic feelings, leading to intimate encounters in various locations, some as daring as basketball courts and neighbors' backyards. Additionally, holiday shopping, whether in-store or online, adds to the romantic ambiance, with many couples purchasing lingerie or sex toys as gifts for one another. The article emphasizes the importance of discretion when gifting sex toys to avoid family embarrassment.

Opinions

  • Fred Petrenko of EdenFantasys observes that the holiday season, particularly the months of increased birth rates, aligns with the survey's findings of heightened amorous activities during the holidays.
  • The survey participants find certain holiday songs, such as "Jingle Bells" and "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," to be particularly stimulating.
  • Many couples are willing to take risks by choosing unconventional places for sex while visiting family during the holidays, indicating a high level of desire and creativity.
  • A considerable portion of respondents views holiday shopping as an aphrodisiac, with a significant number buying lingerie or sex toys as gifts, suggesting that the act of giving during the holidays extends into the bedroom.
  • Petrenko cautions against the potential embarrassment of a sex toy gift being opened in a family setting, highlighting the need for careful planning when gifting intimate items.

Christmas Day Sex? Couples Say Yes!

The hectic nature of the holidays may lead you to believe that most couples simply can’t find the time to be intimate. However, according to a survey of 2,000 people conducted by EdenFantasys, 44 percent make a point of making love on Christmas Day.

“According to the National Center for Health Statistics, August and September have the most births each year,” Fred Petrenko of EdenFantasys said. “This corresponds perfectly with our findings of Americans being quite frisky during the holidays. We all love winter cuddles!”

“If you decide to gift your partner a sex toy for the holidays, you need some additional planning….”

Survey respondents certainly love them and go to great lengths to get frisky during the holidays — and going home to visit their families is far from a deterrent. In fact, many people report that they get so frisky on Christmas that they will have sex in their childhood bedroom (47 percent) or their partner’s childhood bedroom (39 percent). For 25 percent of them, this holiday loving didn’t go unnoticed because either their own parents or their partner’s parents walked in on them as they were doing the deed.

And the rest of them? They may not have gotten caught because they had ingenious sex locations that spared them the embarrassment. The top sex places couples took advantage of when visiting family were:

  • Basketball court
  • The bathroom
  • Behind the Christmas tree
  • In a neighbor’s backyard
  • In a park on a motorcycle
  • Outdoor storage shed
  • On the roof
  • A truck
  • Treehouse
  • Rental car

Sex…The Gift That Keeps on Giving

“We all love winter cuddles!”

What is it about the holidays that makes people so amorous? It could be the music, and survey participants said “Jingle Bells” (32 percent), “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” (29 percent), and “Jingle Bell Rock” (26 percent) get them particularly hot and bothered. (Check out the playlist below to hear all the songs they considered the sexiest.)

It may also be the shopping that turns couples on. For 38 percent surveyed, holiday shopping generally is a turn-on, while 32 percent find online Christmas shopping erotic. This arousal sometimes leads to sexy gift purchases, with 54 percent of people buying lingerie and 29 percent buying a sex toy for their partner at some point.

Although these gifts can certainly spice up the holidays, Petrenko warns to proceed with caution so you don’t get busted.

“If you decide to gift your partner a sex toy for the holidays, you need some additional planning so your gift doesn’t end up in a family gift room on Christmas morning,” said Petrenko.
