Check Out This Cool and New FPS Game Called Boundary
Boundary is an FPS game about astronauts in zero gravity.

In a few previous stories, I have spoken about various different FPS (First Person Shooter) games. These will be linked at the end of this post. In this post, I will talk about a new interesting FPS game I came across called Boundary.
What is an FPS game?
First-person shooter (FPS) is a video game genre where the player experiences the game world through the eyes of their character, known as the first-person perspective.
The primary objective of an FPS game is to shoot and kill enemies using a variety of weapons while navigating through various environments, often in a fast-paced and intense manner.
FPS games have been popular since the early days of gaming, with titles such as Doom and Quake paving the way for the genre’s success.
In FPS games, the player typically controls a character with access to a wide range of weapons, from pistols and shotguns to machine guns and rocket launchers. The player’s objective is to eliminate enemies while avoiding being killed themselves.
The game’s mechanics usually include various movement and aiming mechanics, allowing the player to dodge and weave around the enemy fire while aiming and shooting precisely. Many FPS games also include stealth elements, requiring players to avoid detection and silently take out enemies.
One of the hallmarks of FPS games is their focus on multiplayer gameplay, which pits players against each other in online matches.
Multiplayer FPS games usually involve two teams competing against each other in various game modes, such as deathmatch, capture the flag, and objective-based modes.
Players are typically ranked based on match performance and often have access to various customization options, including weapon skins, character skins, and emotes.
The graphics and sound design of FPS games are often highly detailed, with realistic and immersive environments meant to transport the player to another world.
The game’s music and sound effects also play an essential role in creating a tense and thrilling atmosphere, with explosive sounds and adrenaline-pumping music adding to the excitement.
FPS games offer an intense and thrilling experience that requires quick reflexes, precision aiming, and strategic thinking.
The genre has been a staple of the gaming industry for decades and continues to evolve and improve with new advancements in technology and game design.
Whether solo or in multiplayer mode, FPS games provide a unique and exciting gaming experience that keeps players engaged and on the edge of their seats.
What is Boundary?
Boundary is a first-person shooter (FPS) game set in space, where players control astroperators who engage in gunfights with each other.
The game was released in early access on Steam a week ago and has received a “Mostly Positive” rating from user reviewers. Although the game presents some real space challenges that make gun battles challenging, it is still fun.
The game includes various FPS modes, including a team deathmatch, a domination point-capture mode, and a no-respawn TDM.
The game’s presentation is reminiscent of Fractured Space, another ship combat game that shut down in 2018. The space environment in Boundary is portrayed as a crisp white light, which looks great in games.
Players move their characters using the standard WASD keys, with Space and Ctrl moving them up and down and Shift used to boost.
Unlike Asteroids, where players need to thrust in the opposite direction to stop their movement, in Boundary, players keep moving in whatever direction they last pushed themselves, but they go slow, and it’s easy to stop or change course.
Firing a sniper rifle does not send the player’s character tumbling backward, which would have been comical but not enjoyable.
Boundary includes various real space problems that are well represented in the game. Players may find it challenging to spot enemies since they can be in any direction and wear white fabric while floating around the exteriors of white space stations.
As a result, target marking plays an essential role. The game’s sound design is also excellent, with nearby gunfire faintly audible for playability’s sake and everything else causing vibrations that touch your suit.
The suit can be torn by hits that don’t kill you, requiring the player to hold F to patch it up, which is like what a real astronaut would do.
The game features shooter elements where no-clipping outside the level is encouraged. Players can move around inside space station bits or go “outside” and shove off into the blackness of space.
While lobbying sniper rounds across the map is fun, floating too far away from the cover makes the player’s character easy to spot against the blackness of space and a sitting duck for lock-on rockets.
The game costs $25 at its normal early access price, but it is currently on sale for $22.49. The developers expect it to remain in early access for six months to a year.
Boundary strikes a balance between being a cool and fun multiplayer game that does not need to be an enormous live service phenomenon.
While the game may not be the next FPS megahit, it is enjoyable. One area where it could improve is the English translation.
Boundary is made by a small Chinese studio called Surgical Scalpels, and while the translation may not be perfect, it does not detract from the game’s fun factor.
Final Words
Boundary is an exciting and enjoyable FPS game set in space. Its realistic representation of space challenges, such as spotting enemies and the need to patch up the suit, make it more challenging but also more engaging.
The game’s sound design and presentation are impressive, and the no-clipping feature adds an exciting element to gameplay.
Although the English translation may not be perfect, it is still a game that offers a lot of fun and is worth trying.
