Bringing Awareness to Your Inner and Outer Dialogue

Day 4: What you say to yourself silently and out loud defines your reality

Each step on this 100 day journey through this beautiful spiritual life guide The Infinite Self by Stuart Wilde has lead to more discoveries which I will share with you each day. Taking a deep dive into this book by slowly and carefully treading on this path has been a great experience so far.

On this glorious day let’s explore how we treat ourselves when we speak to ourselves. It is of great importance what we say to ourselves both silently and out loud. So many times we don’t realize that ALL words matter. Words are magical, they are truth and they guide our every move.

I love what Stuart Wilde has to say about our dialogue. I believe it’s one of the most important steps in our travels of the spirit. We can create worlds with our words and we can also destroy them.

…be aware of your dialogue. It seems obvious, but most are not really aware how self-destructive their dialogue is. Negative people don’t see themselves that way. They don’t see how negativity is changing their external reality to fit their mind-set and thus destroying the quality of their life. Listen to your dialogue and watch your thoughts. See how much of it is bitching and moaning and expressing weakness, and how much of it has the God Force within it, expressing hope, gratitude, love, and well-being. Negativity kills you, never forget that. It’s a weed that eventually chokes you to death. -Stuart Wilde

I was reminded of this while doing the dishes this morning. There were a lot of dishes to do and I was starting to get hungry for breakfast. Instead of feeling rushed and inwardly and outwardly complaining about the amount of dishes, I decided to sing myself a little positive song about it: “We are so fortunate to have so many dishes.” This little phrase brought me right back to the present moment, right back to the fantastic day full of possibilities ahead of me.

Have you experienced how changing your inner thoughts and words can make a huge difference in your outlook and the results in your day? I encourage you to try catching your thoughts and your outer dialogue and change them to something more uplifting and postive. Changing our words can change our world.

When the mind offers you a negative thought, say to yourself, “I don’t accept that negative energy; I don’t accept fear. I am love. I am positivity. Everything flows through me. Everything comes to me for my highest good.” Thus, you start to replace the psychology that often creates so much destruction in your life. -Stuart Wilde

Taking steps to create a world of beauty, light and kindness towards yourself will result in an inner and outer glow. You will feel like you are smiling inside and out. The radiance you feel inside your heart will translate to how you feel and act on the outside as well. When you begin to treat your words as if they are delicate flowers, you will see the magic begin to flow in your life.

I am beginning to notice the illuminating quality of words and thoughts through this journey. As I walk in my garden in silence I speak in hushed tones to all of my plants.

I smell the beautiful leaves of my mint plants as I pass by them, wishing them a good morning. I greet my daylilies with praise and tell them how gorgeous they are. I noticed my huckleberry bush today and thanked it for the ripe berries it’s giving me to much on in the afternoons. Speaking to the plants in this loving way translates to a magical quality in the day.

I invite you today to imbue all of your words with magic: silent thoughts, spoken words and written words. Words are magical spells that we cast upon the world, use them for your highest good and for the good of others today.
