Abstract

Blind Leela and Deaf Deva

The Oneness from the Duality

Photo by Praveen Thirumurugan on Unsplash

There was a blind girl called Leela, Always with her smile since her birth, Though she couldn’t see the world emitted spectra, But, she embraces the beautiful music of the Earth.

Leela once met Deva, Who is deaf, but always with joy without pressure, He couldn’t listen to beautiful raga, Yet, grateful as he can see the magnificent nature.

The empathy and fondness between both rise, As they realize they each lack one sense, Still, they know the nature of the world where the illusion lies, Where in mind, the Maya may build the fence.

Leela and Deva are united through the spirit, They are certain that the body, maybe two, but the soul is one, They destroyed the fence that Maya built, With true love, everything is outrun.

Leela danced in a trance without seeing, Deva sang with reverie without hearing, She doesn’t know the steps she was dancing, He doesn’t know either the melodies he was singing.

Yet, they are not flaws, but rather a reverence, As nature is just an art of randomness, The disordered nature is just a brilliance, Beyond chaos, the world is knotted with love and stillness.

The illusion of what Leela couldn’t see is born from the emptiness, And the music of nature is born from the silence that Deva couldn’t hear. Space emerges from Leela’s dance in the voidness, Time emerges from Deva’s song, where silence and sound cohere.

Leela resembled the play of God, where she couldn’t see, yet she could dance. Deva here refers to Brahma, the Creator, where he emerges from the silence and is metaphorically described as a deaf person. Life in this universe seems to be random, and we mistakenly think that we are not connected, but we don’t realize that everything is made up with perfect orderliness. The space is produced from the emptiness, and the music can only be heard when there is silence. Thus, the dance of the atoms in space gives rise to the universe, planets, and us. When we listen to good music, we don’t realize how our minds are being deceived where we forget the time.

From here, we know that the universe is made up of beautiful illusions. Time is an illusion, and it is relative. The space is constructed when the objects are formed. If all the atoms in this universe were negated, there would be no more space.

When the universe is created, duality is created as well. We can see the light clearly when it emerges from the darkness. However, the dual nature of this universe produces illusions of the so-called Maya. Nevertheless, in this poem, the fence of illusion can be destroyed when true love, full of unconditional love, unites. True love doesn’t necessarily mean love between a couple. True love can be with ourselves, with other beings, with other creatures, and with the universe. True love is within each of us. When there is no expectation, unconditional love leads us to a realm of silence where we can gain wisdom about who we are and how we are becoming one with the universe.

We are not separated from the universe; we are the universe. Every one of us is Leela and Deva, who are playing our roles as Gods in this universe.

The universe guides us in many ways. Sometimes, it gives us omen through signs, books we read, movies, and the list goes on. But, today, I am really sure the universe gives me a sign of hope through beautiful writings from amazing writers.

The first one is from Sujona Chatterjee where her words heal me. Yes, the inner voice will surely never let me go. Check her amazing poem here.

I am a huge fan of Ali’s poem. But, today her words realized me that writing doesn't require perfection. We just need to write to share our experience and release our burden.

To fly high, race, color, background, etc are not needed. Trust yourself and fly high like a balloon. This is what I learned from Shameem Anwar’s short story.

You can find grace despite the suffering like the flower in her garden blooms in the winter. Thank you, Trista Signe Ainsworth, for your amazing work which really gives me hope. The pictures you shared taught me to be persistent and have hope despite difficulties. Nature has a great message.
