Beneath the Bridge
With a storm’s fury, a bridge becomes a haven, leading to an unexpected journey guided by a mysterious creature.

Rumbling thunder, a sky torn asunder, Beneath this bridge, I sought to hide. Rain, like shards, around me plunder, In its fury, the world outside.
Huddled close, the concrete cold, My breath a mist, my heart a drum. Stories untold, in whispers bold, Of what from these shadows might come.
Then, quick as lightning’s flash, A creature darted, sleek and slim. Eyes like embers, a silken sash, Through rain it moved, on every whim.
“What are you?” my voice did quake, It turned, its gaze like a piercing spike. In its eyes, a world awake, A realm of dreams, alike and unlike.
I followed, against my better sense, Through puddles that mirrored a fractured sky. Each step a dance, each move intense, In pursuit of the why and the why.
“Wait!” I cried, but it moved with grace, Through streets unknown, alleys unlit. Its form a question in every space, A mystery written in every footprint.
In my heart, a tale untwined, Of courage found in the oddest places. In every shadow, what one might find, In the world’s forgotten, hidden spaces.
“Speak to me,” I pleaded in haste, As it led me to a door, ajar. Beyond lay worlds interlaced, Realms that seemed so near, yet far.
And then it spoke, a voice so clear, “Beyond this door, lies what you seek. But know this, my child, dear, The journey’s long, the path not meek.”
With heart in throat, I stepped within, The creature’s eyes my guiding star. In pursuit of answers, to begin, A journey strange, taking me far.
Under that bridge, the storm raged on, But I was gone, in lands anew. Following a creature, until dawn, To worlds surreal, yet somehow true.
And so I learned, in shadows deep, Lies wonderment, not just fear. In storms, secrets to keep, And in the unknown, things so dear.
For beneath that bridge, in thunder’s song, I found a path, both wild and free. In following the strange, one can’t go wrong, For in the unknown, we find our key.
