Hello, fellow dreamers and storytellers. I’m C.J. Coop, a weaver of words and crafter of worlds. I've found my calling in the bustling landscape of poems and fictional stories.

My journey isn’t just about writing; it’s about touching hearts, challenging minds, and exploring the uncharted territories of human experience. Here, I invite you to delve into my world — where every word is a brushstroke on the canvas of imagination. Welcome to my adventure.

I did an old About Me when I first started and hit 100 followers, but since then, my Narrative has developed into this beautiful writer. Sounds narcissistic, I know, but let me tell you a story about me when I was younger, with less stress, fewer responsibilities, and a lot less knowledge but a lot of imagination.

A Younger me:

Hailing from a working-class UK family in the mid-nineties, I was the quintessential inquisitive child, forever questioning the world around me. This trait, a blend of curiosity and wonder, stayed with me into adulthood. It’s a quality that simplifies life’s complexities, though it occasionally tests my wife’s patience. But for someone who views each day as a puzzle to be solved, it’s simply the essence of being.

From a young age, I loved diving into different worlds, whether it was through video games, books, or my daydreams. TV shows and movies were my gateway to fantasy and fiction. Despite my passion for imagination, I often heard that it wouldn’t get me far in the real world, which seemed less colourful. As mentioned in my previous About Me section, this led me to explore science.

After a month of exploring science topics on Medium, I hit a creative wall. My enthusiasm for both the subject and writing itself waned. But then, I rediscovered my childhood love for poetry and storytelling. As a kid, I often dabbled in writing books, stories, and poems, yet I never stuck with it. However, Medium offered me a fresh start — a place to hone my skills. I’m not saying I’ve mastered the art of writing, but I firmly believe that practice makes perfect.

My New Niche:

Shifting to poetry and fiction was a game-changer for me. Seeing more readers engage with my work through views, claps, and comments has been incredible. There’s something special about that kind of support; it fuels my passion to keep creating. The Be Open Club has been a big part of this journey, connecting me with a community of like-minded individuals. In today’s world, finding your tribe is vital.

I firmly believe in the power of stories and poems to offer an escape from life’s stresses and strains. Having battled depression and anxiety myself, I understand just how crucial this can be. We have one life — and no, it’s not a cliché to say it — and taking care of our mental well-being, brain included, is essential because life is fleeting.

There’s a beautiful synergy in connecting with people who share your mindset. Seeing that my work has brightened someone’s day is a massive boost, especially when feeling low. And the favour has been returned; I’ve also had my day made by others here. That’s the beauty of this platform — it’s a two-way street of support and inspiration.

1. My First name is Callum,
2. Age: 29 | 30 in February
3. My Wife is Jessica's Quill
4. I have ADHD and Struggled most of my life with it, unknown until recently.
5. Our Daughter is Called Novella, and yes, it means Short Story. We are both book lovers.
6. I am an Introvert and find it difficult to talk to others, especially in person and over the phone.
7. I am trying to do 50 things at once while Maintaining my sanity and not breaking down daily.
