Beach Guided Meditation
Slow Down, Feel the Ocean in Your Breath

Sit comfortably in a cross legged position on a pillow on the floor. Preferably facing northeast. You can sit in a chair if you are more comfortable, what is most important is that you are able to let go of the chaos of the external world and go within. So as you begin to get comfortable start to close your eyes and soften your jaw by placing your tongue on the roof of your mouth. Relax your shoulders, allowing them to fall gently away from your ears. Turn your palms up on your thighs, connecting your first finger and thumb, open to receiving.
Start to breathe in slowly through your nose
And Exhale slowly through your nose
Again, Inhale through your nose
And, exhale through your nose
As you continue to breathe in slowly through your nose and out through your nose start to visualize yourself at sunrise on a beach.
Feel the warmth of the morning sun kiss your skin
Feel the coolness of the sand below your feet
Inhale through your nose
Exhale through your nose
Listen to the sounds of the waves as they
Wash gently to shore
And then back out to sea
Breathe in through your nose
Breathe out through your nose
Observe the sound of your breath as you continue to breathe on your own. It mimics the very sound of the oceans waves as if you are the conch shell.
Breathe in
Breathe out
Now focus back onto the warmth of the sun and the sound of the waves as you continue to breathe deeply in through your nose and out through your nose. You are an ocean of infinite wisdom. All of the answers you need all already within. You are calm. You are beautiful yet powerful.
Now slowly open your eyes, bring your hands together at heart center, roll your shoulder forward three times releasing any tension you may still have. Now roll them backwards. Now close your eye. Take one more deep inhale, and on your exhale I invite you to Om or AUM with me to honor your meditation practice.
Slowing down and going inward is so important. It not only creates calm and clarity, it literally activates our parasympathetic nervous system which slows our heart rate and lowers our blood pressure. Meditation increases mindfulness and reduces anxiety. It is a great way to start each day. In fact, according to Healthline, it increases attention span, and may reduce age related memory loss. It may even aid in addiction.
