Be Grateful For All You Have
Putting our perspectives right for our problems
As I pondered the past few years, I thought we had undergone many disruptions in life because of COVID. Most people would not like any disruptions, including myself. Because of that, some people lost their jobs.
And yet, disruptions often help us to restore a perspective in our lives. That is, we can never take things for granted. For example, when you flip a switch, electricity is turned on. When you light or turn on your cooker, it works. When you turn on a tap, water is available.
Look at all other disruptions in the world. For example, there are earthquakes and wars in various countries. All the basic amenities in life are gone.
So we are privileged if we live in a country where we encounter peace. And everything in life is working and available.
Disruptions in life taught us that we could never take things for granted. We have everything working because we are not affected by any significant disruptions.
In comparison, sometimes we get upset when we encounter some inconveniences. We complain and fuss about things that are not working in our favour. But all these are very insignificant compared to experiencing a natural disaster or a war. So we must learn to be grateful that ours is only an inconvenience for a while.
We will learn to be grateful when we can put things in perspective.
