Be Careful What You Post on Medium and Social Media
It Will Come Back to Haunt You.

It has happened to everyone. You post something on Social Media that might be controversial or that someone will PrintScreen and post elsewhere.
It also happens on Medium, where there is a lot of name-callings. When I started here, I read an article where the author did something not to be on paper or the internet. That is naming names. The blog said that this author doesn’t read any articles with tons of bad grammar in them. This person was probably a teacher who forgot that not every writer remembers all the grammar rules. Yet, this person’s biggest mistake was naming one of the other authors on Medium when they should have been anonymous.
I thought that this person has not read many blogs because there are tons of grammatical errors everywhere. So, the best thing that this person should have done is pinpoint where the mistakes are and stop assuming that every writer should know their grammar rules.
I did point out a grammar mistake on a fellow Medium Member’s article, and they appreciated it. There was another writer who did that to me on mine. And I did go and fix that. It was embarrassing for me, but at least someone caught it.

I don’t like to repeat myself, but lighten up if you are one of those strict members of the Grammar Police who thinks that all writers should know their rules. Grammar changes all the time, and it’s hard for everyone to remember them all.
I know this from being a Copywriter as well. But unfortunately, others in my profession write the same way as people talk and do not speak in perfect grammar. That’s why you also see bad grammar in advertising all the time.
Of course, I use Grammarly, but sometimes that has some questionable grammar issues (Like why it always flags me for passive voice, even if I am writing about something in history).

And by the way, there was a comment on my website from a fellow Medium Member a few months back that gave me an excellent idea for an article. What I did about that was written something more on the educational side than on the blame side and let this person who commented on my website be anonymous.
The only thing that all of you in the Grammar Police should know if you see bad grammar in a Medium article, don’t write your own blog and name names. Instead, write to the author and point it out. They will appreciate it.

Social Media
My last job did hire someone on Facebook to ensure that we didn’t say anything wrong about the company. I think that I wrote to my brother about how bad this company is that this person did PrintScreen it and sent it to my boss. So, of course, I unfriended this person. They ended up getting another job. And my last company hired someone else that I didn’t friend at all. However, I didn’t say anything wrong about the company after my boss got wind of that post.
About a year ago, I posted an unpopular opinion about something that I didn’t think was that controversial. It wasn’t racist, sexist, homophobic, or anything discriminatory. I want to avoid getting into much detail about it because I prefer not to get any more bullies and trolls. But I can tell you that it is about the restaurant industry. It was in a group post that someone forgot to do something. Anyway, I got many comments for my unpopular opinion. I did write about it in my general one. Only to have two people from that group respond. They both posted a print screen of what I wrote in that group. So I had to take down that post and unfriend those two people. I should have also flagged those two for bullying me, but I learned how to do that months later.

What is the Point of All This?
No matter how old you are, everyone doesn’t think before posting what they write. But, once we all do, it will come back to haunt us. It might even hurt your chances of getting a job (Aside from posting pictures of you getting drunk at a party).
I should be careful too. But, unfortunately, sometimes, my anger gets the best of me.
