Being in nature and experiencing one of its wonders firsthand is part of what makes adventure travel so addicting. Something transformative happens when travelers let go and lose themselves in nature.
No other experience can match the power of standing close enough to a waterfall and feeling its wispy mist fall around you; or looking out toward the horizon at the vastness and magnitude of The Grand Canyon; or climbing Sedona’s Bell Rock and sitting cross-legged on it’s red, rugged shoulders.
Experiencing natural wonders is what makes travel so compelling and magical.

For our next writing prompt, we’re looking for personal travel stories about a time when the sheer magnificence of one of nature’s wonders made you feel you were in the presence of something meaningful. Tell us about the natural destination — large and small — that has moved you as you traveled this amazing planet.

“Sometimes (well, many times) when you are traveling, things don’t turn out the way you envisioned them. I had such great plans to visit some parts of Scotland and for the whole year before my journey I had even visualized myself there: The Isle of Skye, West Highland Way, Eilean Donan castle, the Jacobite Steam Train.”
