Avoid These Filler Words In Your Writing

I am also using them in my content, but I have decided to avoid them…

How to write great content? How to come up with a concise and outstanding article? Whether you are a newcomer or an experienced writer, you will always want to learn new things to gain more and more exposure and popularity.

When I started writing, it didn’t take me a lot of time to figure out how to write high-quality posts or articles. What I have observed is that we all use so many filler words. These words can be replaced by something better, but we don’t bother to focus on such things.

While you are speaking to somebody, you will want to use only the best words. Isn’t it? In the same way, you need to eliminate filler words to leave a good impression on the reader or your target audience. Let’s check out which words need to be avoided.

1. That

You may think that I am joking but it is not. In my opinion, ‘that’ is nothing more than a weird word. We can write sentences without it too.

Example

She thinks that the dog has run away.

This sentence can be written in the following way without disturbing the meaning or compromising on quality.

She thinks the dog has run away.

2. So

‘So’ is used in all types of sentences. When you have to start your speech, you will use this word. In most situations, ‘so’ is followed by a comma and then the rest of the writing is done.

Example

So, I want you to proceed with the work as soon as possible.

This can be replaced by the following.

I want you to quickly proceed with the work.

3. In Order To

These kinds of phrases are good for nothing. Unfortunately, various writers keep using them and end up getting poor feedback or comments. I don’t think that using multiple words is mandatory when we can write the same type of thing without them.

Example

In order to get more exposure, the writer publishes articles daily.

This can be comfortably written in the following way.

The writer publishes articles daily to get more exposure.

Takeaway

To be honest, nothing is wrong with these words and phrases, but they are not a part of professional writing. If you want your work to look flawless, then you must avoid such filler words.
